We undertook a site visit and discussed the timeline and vehicle access with the council. Following this we developed a bespoke Traffic Management Plan which included 24-7 staffed Road Closure at the main entrance into the approach road off the main road during the installation operation.
In advance of the Traffic Management systems being put into place, we placed Advanced Notice Signage across the route taken from the Motorway by the exceptional loads. This advised traffic on both sides of the road to expect disruption on the date of installation.
Combined with extensive No Parking Cones & Restriction Signage deployed along the route, this allowed our Traffic Management Operatives to advise residents and those seeking access to not park within the route. This was backed up by our tow away contractor who was on standby to move any obstructing vehicle to a safe location.
Where street furniture, such as keep left bollards, had to be removed our Traffic Management Operatives replaced these with the appropriate signage, lighting and guarding to ensure drivers on the route could still be advised.
Throughout the three day Road Closure, our Traffic Management Operatives engaged with all the residents about the closure, restrictions and works leading to significant praise on the community social media pages for the area and many cups of tea and biscuits for our team which was very much appreciated!
